About Paula

From process management to magic

My Story

I live in a small lakeside town in Oregon that is the prototype for Percival, with my husband and two cats. (I promise: no characters in the book are based on my real-life friends and neighbors – except the cats.) When I’m not writing or doing all the other tasks required for self-publishing, I can often be found rowing, reading, kayaking, reading, knitting, wine tasting, or reading.

Past History

Before retiring, I worked as a software engineer and quality manager in companies in a variety of industries, from under a hundred to over a hundred thousand employees. I saw the pitfalls of not having well-documented and controlled process – and the hazards of having too many processes; as a result, I published Successful Business Process Management in 2014 (AMACOM). It provides the fundamentals of process systems, in a clear and readable format, to help you figure out what’s right for your business.

“‘Damn it!’ I echoed, putting the book down.”
